Referentia Systems Awarded Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I Grant to Develop Cross-Enclave Authentication Service

HONOLULU, HI – July 18th, 2006 – Referentia Systems announced today that it has been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant to develop Cross-Enclave Authentication Service technology for the U.S. Navy. This project, to be developed by Referentia Systems and its partner Sigaba, will involve research on a system that allows users, devices and processes to be identified and authenticated in a multi-national, mission-oriented context based upon security clearance levels, releasability compartments and operational roles.

“Efficient planning and collaboration with our coalition partners is becoming more and more critical in today’s operational environment,” said Stacey Anfuso, program manager for the CEAS project at Referentia. “Authenticating the identities of various users across a range of clearance levels, roles and devices will be crucial to establish trust and ensure the success of coalition operations in the 21 st century. CEAS has the potential to dramatically increase the speed, accuracy and reliability of authentication across multiple enclaves.”

“SBIR grants are an important part of our business focus,” added Referentia President & CEO Nelson Kanemoto. “Winning an SBIR validates our competitiveness on a national level, and brings opportunities for future commercialization of the resulting technology in subsequent SBIR phases.”
